Flatware is your cutlery and therefore you will want to get this right as incorrect flatware will not look good next to your top quality dinnerware.

Drinkware include cups but not glasses, which are used for wine because these would be referred to as glassware. However in this instance we will use the term drinkware to descripe anything used for drinking from.

Planning Ahead for Christmas Gift Shopping (Yes, I know what month it is!)

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

I know we do not like to mention that dreaded word, but Christmas is creeping up on us fast. Before you know where you are, there will only be a few weeks left and the panic would have started. People will slowly start to break out in a cold sweat and worry about what they should be buying for everybody.

Last year I had lots of time to do my Christmas shopping and it was great. I did not have that last minute rush to the shopping centre and I could take a leisurely walk around the town with no hassle and no crowds. This year I am working full time, so I need to be totally organised.

I find that the worst part of Christmas is pinning down the family and finding out what they actually want for Christmas. If I know what to buy I do not mind spending money, it is really annoying though when you meander round the shops, wondering what to buy and then you come home empty handed.

This year I would love to try and do a bit for the environment so have decided to look into eco friendly christmas gifts. I love to be able to help others and the planet whilst doing some shopping, and isn’t Christmas the best time to do this?

The sheer volume of choice out there for gifts is unbelivable, but while trawling through I think I’ve also managed to find the perfect ethical tableware – now I can be sure that my dinner table is going to look fantastic come Christmas time.

As per usual the other half never knows what to buy me, so I have dropped a few hints about ethical vases. That way, there are no excuses why he cannot buy me flowers throughout the coming year. Well as you know, they have to be pushed in the right direction sometimes.

Oh well I stray from the subject, I must return to my shopping lists and find out what Great Aunt Gladys wants this year – it will probably be the same as every other year – pink fluffy slippers!
