The Power Of Praying For Your Adult Children
Tuesday, September 7th, 2010I have often looked forward to the freedom that goes with my child turning 18..
It’s not a secret that raising kids is an intimidating challenge, but caring for them is a journey.
After reading Stormie Omartians newest book, The Power of Praying for Your Adult Children, I now have a greater sense of the responsibility that I have to pray for my childs well being, especially when they move onto adulthood.
Continuing her life changing Power of a Praying series, Omartian shifts onto her focus to parents whose children have become adults and are venturing off on their own for the first time.
However, instead of the popular notion that parents are no longer responsible for their children, Omartian suggests that it is during this time that parents can play the biggest role in their kids lives.
When they reach adulthood, a child is no longer under our constant supervision.. Kids are constantly introduced to new things that alter their lives..
Parents should focus on praying for their children and asking God to guide them through life..Still, this is a valuable resource to help you pray for your adult children – especially if you have a difficult time seeing your children as adults. I recommend this book to every parent who wants to get in the daily habit or needs a few ideas of how to pray appropriately for their adult kids.
Using various thoughts and Scriptures, Omartian helps parents understand the importance of prayer in several of their childrens lives, including their careers, relationships, parenting skills, struggles, and most importantly, their walk with God.
I really enjoyed this book and have already begun praying for my child’s future.. While they grow up, I am one of my child’s biggest influences..
I know I must always pray for my child..
Whether you are facing an empty nest or still raising your children, I would highly recommend reading The Power of Praying for Your Adult Children by Stormie Omartian. Prayer is the one gift that we all continually need, and your child will reap the benefits of it for their entire lives..
